1 Mechanical 1.1 Basic Mechanical Skill Course Objectives After the completion of this course the trainees will independently be able to Identify and understand the construction plant/equipment and vehicle type, general usage, its components and parts and fitting of ground engaging tools for construction work Perform measurement by different measuring tools, instruments/gauges, identify common workshop equipment and tools for heavy equipment and vehicle. Uses of files, chisels, taps & dies, drilling and grinding m/c Perform Gas welding/cutting techniques and Arc welding techniques Identify and understand different type of fasteners, bearing, seals and gaskets used in automotive vehicle. Understand the basic auto -electric principles, battery technology and starting, charging and lighting systems Understand basic tyre size, inflation pressure, tread type and carryout tyre repair works Carryout plant and vehicle servicing Select proper types of lubricant and filter used in different plants and vehicles.
