Mechanical Training Center
The Mechanical Training Center (MTC) was established
within the Department of Roads (DOR) under Ministry
of Physical planning and works of HMG/ Nepal in the
year 1978 to equip the mechanical staff of DOR with
the knowledge and skills needed to operate, maintain
and repair the Heavy Equipment effectively and efficiently.
With the support of International donor agencies like
ILO, UNDP and the World Bank /IDA and services provided
by the international consultants like Crown Agent of
UK, SME of Australia and DHV consultants of Netherlands,
the capacity of the training center has been strengthened
in terms of physical facilities, training aids &
equipment, curricula & course modules, Training
materials and instructors’ training Skill.
Over the years MTC has successfully trained about one
thousand mechanical personnel. With the commencement
of commercialization process in the year 2001, MTC started
providing training to the personnel from public and
private sector and also to individuals on a fee-paying
basis.
